I Want It Made In America

It is a promotion that comes along here and there, though I haven�t seen any advertisements for it lately. I remember the Made In America campaign, though that may not have been the official name for it. What I do know is that these ads were meant to encourage American�s to look at the label on anything they were buying, and to consider only buying those that are made in our own country. It�s a great idea, and one that I stand behind, but it isn�t always practical. Sometimes it is downright hard.
Almost anything you can think of is made in America, but there are some things that are not. Sometimes you simply can�t find what you are looking for. Even worse, if you are on a tight budget, you can�t afford the items that are made in America. There is a reason why so many things are made overseas. A lot of the time, it is so much cheaper and sometimes people cannot afford to pay the difference when they are shopping for a large family on a small budget. If you�ve never been in that position, let me assure you how tough it can be. Sometimes a few dollars makes all the difference.
If you can afford it, however, you should consider buying items that clearly state they are made in America. This is good for your economy and can benefit commerce in your own country. The more items sold that are made in America, the bigger the demand will become. Factories will have to hire more people, and that means more jobs. When you buy products here, you are supporting your country, your neighbor and your future. It is also a good way to encourage companies that are thinking of moving their operations to other parts of the world to remain here. If they can afford to remain on American soil and make a profit, they will most likely do so. Not all companies are like this, but some are. Those are the ones worth saving.
You may find that products that are made in America are of better quality, and that is why you may have to pay a little more. It�s not that foreign made good are always bad, but you will find the standards of American products to be a little higher in some cases. It is worth the extra cost if you can afford it, and you may find that you buy items made in America exclusively in the future. Even if you only buy American items once in a while, you are still helping keep our economy going.
